Kokone stared forlornly at the chattering group, Gumi, Mugi and Teto. They seemed like close friends. She was envious.
"Well," she whispered to herself. "Let's see what seat I'm in."
She carefully opened the folded piece of paper in her hands and felt her heart sink immediately. It was a seat in the last row of the room. At least it was next to a window. Kokone glanced around hopelessly. She wanted to trade but she was too shy to ask someone so she shuffled towards her new desk and sat down.
"This is shaping up to be a great new year," she mumbled sarcastically, turning her gaze to the scenery outside the room. It was a beautiful day and the large sakura tree in the school courtyard was creating a pink petal storm. Kokone busied herself with enjoying the panorama to bury her disappointment in the seating arrangement.

Gumi and Teto both recieved their pieces of paper with their assigned seats. Teto ended up getting right next to where Kiyoteru-Sensei usually taught and Gumi got in the third row. It wasn't ideal but It would work. "Hey Mugi! Where are you sitting?" Teto asked botheringly. "We should switch if you are, ya know, in the middle of the room." Teto pleaded with a level-head. Gumi sighed and quickly moved her bags to the assigned seat.

Rei was waiting in line for a number when suddenly a student burst into the door. He silently groaned. It was the green haired boy from yesterday. Apparently he was famous for being late. The school year wasn't starting very well.
Finally it was Rei's turn. The teen took a number from the box, and looked at it. Lucky! Against all odds, he actually got a number that he wanted. It wasn't the seat that he was sitting at, but it's still towards the back and near the window. Maybe it wasn't so bad after all. He quietly hummed as he sat down, looking out the windows again.

"Oh, do you mean that new World of Ragnascape Hunter Story of Legends?" ((ahahahahaha, a deliberately terrible trainwreck of names)) Mugi grinned with excitement. "Oh man, I played that all night! Which.. uh, which is why I woke up late this morning..."
After that last statement, the queue moved up and Gumi and Teto plucked their numbers from the box. They didn't seemed very pleased, but not overly disappointed.
"Hey, Mugi! Where are you sitting?" Teto suddenly asked.
Mugi took a deep breath once he reached the box. The poor kid was last in line and most of the seats were taken at this point.
"Hold on a minute, Teto," he whispered as if it would add suspense and tension in the air. "That information hasn't arrive to me yet."
He reached his hand into the box and carefully moved his hand across the numbers, as if it would somehow make him able to read them and choose a good seat. After a good solid 15 seconds of just standing there and feeling around, Mugi selected a slip and opened it up.
A seat in the front, closest to the door. Whaaaat?
"Uh, Sensei, there's a mistake. I'm a main character. I should sit next to the window."

"..."
Hiyama stood still, smiling at Mugi. There was no response. Oh, he was serious.
"Well, Main Character-kun," he replied. "If there's someone willing to trade seats with you then you may get a window seat."
Kokone perked up. Any seat was better than hers, she figured. Unless he picked another back row seat. If that was the case, then it was worse than the desk she had now, for at least there was a window. She stared at the paper in Mugi's hands as if that would let her know the number written on it.

((Main Character-kun, im dying lmao)) Gumi nodded at Mugi enthusiastically. World of Ragnascape Hunter Story of Legends was the top game as of late and it wsas the rage. She had only been playing for a few weeks but she managed to get to level 62! Gumi was happy that she had someone else to understand the troubles of being a teenage gamer. Late nights, quest, stress, procrastinating on homework till you level up, and then decide to try to get another level up and procrastinate more, ya know, the works. "OOH! Sucks to be you Mugi-kun! Now Hiyama-sensei will ber next to you every waking moment of his classes. His eyes will peer beyond his frames and into your SOUL!!!" Teto mocked. She always gave boys a hard time, they should be lucky to even be able to talk to her! She was the image of perfection; they should worship the ground she walks on. Gumi, however, got settled into her new seat. Before Teto hollered at her, "Hey! You never did respond to if we could change seats or not!" "I just got settled in." "You could get settled out!" "But I am perfecty fine with my seat!" "I am not! I have to sit next to Sensei and Mugi! Thats like twice as bad!"

((I didn't read properly and I had to make some changes on my previous post xDD ))
Rei glanced back, wondering who got the seat that he wanted and to his surprise, it was the girl from yesterday. It seems like she wasn't really happy about her seating. Maybe...?
He turned halfway to face the girl, "...Do you want to trade..?" He asked quietly.

"...Do you want to trade..?"
Kokone glanced forward sharply, shocked to hear a familiar voice speaking to her. The boy from yesterday. Ohhhh boy. But maybe trading seats with him would be a good opportunity to do something nice so they could be friends and, and, and...
"I-I-I-I-I-eeeeuh," Kokone sputtered out. Perfect.
Hiyama stood near the front of the room, his smile still plastered on his face as he tried to ignore the fact that he could hear Teto and Gumi very clearly (seeing as they were pretty much yelling).

"Fine." Gumi said in a hushed-tone once realizing they could be seen as overbearing. She bathered her stuff and quickly moved to Teto's seat. They swapped papers and Gumi quickly settled into her new seat. It is a good thing Gumi got along with Mugi and Hiyama-Sensei was a fairly decent teacher, otherwise she would be miserable.
Teto hooted in victory as she quickly made her way towards Gumi's old seat.

"Eeeh...? Ehhhh?!" Mugi watched as Gumi now had a lovely seat in the back by the window. "Main Character-san?! You're a main character now?"
With no choice but to sit in that front row seat, Mugi plopped down but continued to turn his body to face Gumi.
"Oh, oh, if you're a main character, make sure to save me from danger, okay? I want to be an important side character!"
