Gumi hurriedly grabbed a spare notebook and pen and handed it to Mugi. She grabbed her pencil and watched Hiyama contently, waiting for the lesson to start. She needed to stay ahead this year, she can't have 70s again.
Teto however relaxed in her seat, not expecting to have to do to much today. It was only the first day, she wouldn't , miss THAT much material.

((I say asian xDD ))
"Alright everyone," Hiyama-sensei interrupted the girl, hushing the noisy classroom. "First period class will be starting shortly."
Rei turned his attention back on the girl. "Alright then, let's switch." He grabbed his backpack and went behind the back seat, waiting for the girl to move.

Kokone scrambled quickly out of her seat, knocking the chair over. Panicking, she righted the chair, but moving too fast, she didn't lift it enough and it fell again. Kokone felt her face burn as she lifted it one more time and hurriedly picked up her things and sat at her new desk. She could feel the eyes of the rest of the class on her, so she hunched over her desk and stared at the smooth surface.
Hiyama cleared his throat and glanced at the clock before making an announcement.
"By the way," the teacher said. "Since it's the beginning of your high school lives I'll appoint the class representative for you this term. Mugi-kun, congratulations."
The bell rang before any protest could be made.
"Well, let's begin first period, shall we?" Hiyama asked, with a pleasant smile. It was time for first period math. LAME-O

"Thank you," Mugi whispered quickly and started to test to make sure the pen worked. Mugi styled, of course, meaning doodling dancing stick figures and rabbits eating carrots.
A loud sound of chair legs scraping the floor and then proceeding to fall over caught Mugi's attention. He turned and saw (a really pretty) girl desperately righting the chair and then letting smash back into the ground again. When she righted the chair, her face was a deep scarlet. Oops.
The teacher up at front cleared his throat and spoke. "By the way, since it's the beginning of your high school lives I'll appoint the class representative for you this term. Mugi-kun, congratulations."
Ha, Mugi felt bad for the poor kid who was drafted. Poor, poor boy. Poor Mugi-- Wait a second, Mugi?!
"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!" Mugi cried right out loud, just as Hiyama finished "suggesting" the class start the first period. "S-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-senseiii.......!" The new class representative mumbled, his voice quivering. No way. No way! NO WAY!

The class snickered at poor Mugi's affliction and outburst, but quieted down when Hiyama put a finger to his lips.
"Come on now," he said benevolently. "Let's get started."
And right away the teacher turned and began to write notes on the blackboard (after erasing the seating chart from homeroom) with a piece of white chalk, lecturing all the while.
Kokone felt her mouth drop slightly open at the notes. She'd never seen these equations before and Sensei's lecture was just flying over her head. Defeated, the girl resigned to doodling swirls and stars and hearts in her notebook rather than pay attention.

Rei sat down at the back seat as sensei started his lesson. That green-haired kid from the assembly was still stuttering about being the representative. Poor kid.
Then the sensei erased the board, started writing equations on the board and started his boring lecture. Oh, he's seen that before. That one too. When did they start teaching elementary materials here? Never the less, he took notes anyway, since he's got nothing else to do. He could probably sleep through this whole class and still ace the test. Math was one of Rei's strong points.

Mugi gnawed on the back of the pen he borrowed from Gumi in horrified silence. He didn't even look at the board or listen to the teacher's words. Instead he was counting the hours of gaming would be lost pulling tasks and how many paper cuts he would get from carrying stacks of papers. Horrible! Absolutely horrible!
About 10 minutes in, Mugi finally glanced up at the board and saw an array of examples, equations, and concepts that had flown on without him. Swearing inwardly, he scribbled down the notes, although it became more of an unreadable sketch of the blackboard than anything actually helpful.
In the middle of writing of the quadratic formula, the pen's ink stopped and instead of black, shining ink, the paper soon became adorned with indents of the intended words.
"Shoot," Mugi hissed under his breath, "Shoot, shoot, shoot..." He scribbled upon the notebook in desperation, willing the writing utensil to come alive once more.

Gumi wrote a quick note in her planner to remind herself to congratulate Mugi on being class-representative. She took notes throughout the class and made sure to get every detail. DUring a slow part in the lesson she heard mumbles from Mugi, she looked over and noticed he was having pen troubles. She searched through her bag and found another pen. Gumi tapped his shoulder and handed him the new pen. Teto had drifted off during the first 5 minutes of the lecture, and she was enjoying some nice dreams about cute anime boys like Makoto Tachibana and Jean Kirschtein.

Seemingly unaware some of the students' pains of having to do math first thing in the morning, Hiyama bore on, going through the material at a steady pace. For Kokone, the class felt like hours. She sat in fear that Hiyama might call on her and ask her to answer an example, but he never did, as she didn't realize that the teacher didn't want to completely ruin everyone's first day of classes. In fact, he was even nice enough to not assign any homework!
As the day continued, the other teachers proved to not be as merciful, a few calling on some students to read from their books, and some giving assignments for the students to do at home, until finally it was lunchtime. About half the class rushed to the cafeteria to buy their lunch while the rest remained, pulling out their bentos or convenience store bread, or whatever they had to eat.
Kokone felt a weight lift off her shoulders. Eating time! That was something she could do. She hadn't been able to withstand a single class thus far. The information was just too difficult for her to understand.
"Time to eat the delicious bento I made this morning," Kokone sang to herself. She reached into her bag and felt her books, but no lunchbox.
"H-hm?" The poor girl searched her bag a few times, to no avail.
"I-I forgot my lunch?!" she exclaimed to herself in horror, drawing the attention of a few students around her. Kokone quickly dropped her gaze and pretended to be completely absorbed in observing the surface of her desk. Leave it to her to forget her lunch on the first day of school!

Gumi took notes through out the time they were in class. She went to Home Ec somewhere during this time and managed to make a few rice balls. She packed them up and but them in her bag with her bento. She proceeded through the rest of the time with just a tiny bit of small talk with Teto and Mugi. Teto, however, fell asleep in each class and managed to start a fire in Home Ec. The teacher was really warming up to her, haha. Teto sighed as she quickly ran to the cafeteria to buy her lunch so she could quickly get back to talk to Gumi.
Gumi noticed the girl, who didn't look very familiar might she add, make a scene. Gumi heard "forgot" and "lunch" so she assumed the poor girl forgot her lunch. It must be tough to be new and under all this stress and then forget your lunch. Gumi eyed her bag, she did have some rice balls she could give to the girl, although she did want to give some to Mugi; assuming he forgot his lunch with the rest of his stuff. But Gumi decided her bento was big enough for her and Mugi to share as she took the rice balls out of her bag and walked up to the girl. "Hello. I couldn't help but notice you forgot your lunch. I got ahead in Home Ec. and made some riceballs if you would like them." She said, holding the small box full of them out to her. Gumi gave the girl a sincere smile to try to get her to take them.
