Name:
Kagome (歌詞女) (Original character)
Age:17
Sexuality: Bisexual
Appearance:
hair:brown
eyes:hazel
skin tone:olive
height:5'6" (168cm)
body build: small-medium
other:wears almost exclusively only pastel or soft neutral colours
Personality:
good stuff:
Despite her muteness, she is surprisingly sociable, and loves communicating with other people. She is attentive and empathetic towards others, and behind her limited ability to communicate, she has a generous heart and wants to help nurture the people around her reach their potential. More than anything, she loves music and believes it is the key to bringing the whole world together under this collectively understandable language.
neutral stuff:
She accepts assistance from others willingly, but will try to adamantly refuse if the help being offered has something to do with her inability to speak. She is an eager user of sign language, and occasionally in her excitement to talk to someone, will rapidly sign at them rather than reach for the notebook and pen she always carries with her. In this way, she is a bit of an airhead, though this can be due to the fact that she is a sensitive listener and she is always filling her mind with a tune of some kind.
bad stuff:
Kagome has days where she is down on herself, and will shut herself away from others if she is experiencing a bad day. This is mostly due to her guilt of having to use another's voice synthesizer in place of her own when composing songs. She also becomes agitated, upset, and when persisted upon, may lash out if reminders of her disability bombard her. It was not her choice to lose her voice - and this has shaped her morals, leaving her to believe that fate is cruel and there is no possibility of choosing a way out of what destiny has in store. Music is her only comfort during her dark moments.
other stuff you really want to add:
She lost her voice when she was hit by a particularly serious infection at age 11. It left her in the hospital for a long time, and by the time she was discharged she could no longer speak. Before then, she loved singing and dreamed of being a published artist. However, she had a very close friend who happened to have recorded her voice, intending on using it for an UTAUloid. Instead, Kagome's friend gave her the rights to use the voice for herself. Although refusing it at first, Kagome eventually accepted, and dubbed the voice "Koe" at the request of her best friend, who wanted to remain anonymous and refused to be credited for the voice (her reasons being not wanting to be noticed). Now when Kagome makes music that requires a singing voice, she will use Koe.
Hobbies/Past Times/Likes/Dislikes/Interests: Composing songs, reading manga, plays the guitar and is in the process of learning piano, filled buns, seafood, gelatin-type desserts, and rainy days. Dislikes raw seafood and sloppy scanlations, and uneducated incredibly biased negative opinions about music - she will have a near uncontrollable urge to try and convince the sharer of the opinion to switch to a more positive tone.
Roleplay Sample:
Have your character respond to the following situation:
Miku (or Rin, if you are applying for a Miku) ran cheerfully ahead, her hands outstretched, feeling the wind. She stopped at the edge of the outlook where she closed her eyes and took a deep breath of fresh mountain air before turning around and waving energetically.
"C'mon, slowpoke," she giggled. "Hurry up! The view is fantastic."
Your sample:
Adjusting her hat, Kagome grinned and scrambled towards the overhang, stumbling a little before regaining her balance at Miku's side. The breeze was cool, crisp, and refreshing, like cold water straight from the fridge. Kagome took a deep breath and could not stop the smile from spreading across her face as she gazed out towards the pristine landscape. If she could, she would have uttered the most stunned "Wow" anyone would have ever heard, but instead she resorted to mouthing it.
And now that she gave it a bit of thought, she realized that perhaps a spoken word would ruin the moment. Satisfied with basking in Miku's awe and in the breathtaking view, she simply stood there, taking in the scenery.
