Ten fifty-seven AM.
With a gentle tug at his coat, and a slight push at his spectacles, the brown-haired man gave one last look at the mirror, ascertaining his appearance was to his satisfaction. His reflection gazed confidently back at him, his lips twitching into a smile.
"Mr. Hiyama," a voice called from the doorway, rousing the man from his trance. "The guests are about ready to arrive.
With a grin and a nod, Hiyama spun on the heel of his perfectly polished leather shoe, following the maid who had come to call on him.
Ten fifty-eight AM,
He stood at the banister, gazing at the gaudily decorated ballroom, brightly lit by the sparkling sunlight filtering in through the large windows.
Ten fifty-nine AM.
He quickly descended the stairs and gracefully glided to the entrance, where he waited with perfect posture as the guests made their way inside. He greeted each one personally, bowing stiffly yet fluidly, almost a work of gentlemanly art. Beautifully dressed men and women began to chatter in small groups, and almost immediately the party became lively.
Eleven o'clock AM. The party had started right on time.

((Is it okay to join in...? It does say open...>.> I hope this works... ^^ ) Rin gave a quick twirl, relishing in the swish of the fabric as the silky cloth caressed her legs in its rotation. The cream colored dress was the most amazing piece of clothing the blond girl had ever seen. She clapped her hands with joy and raced to the mirror, twirling the skirt again and again in awe. The dress was a clever mix of yellow, cream and light black, like the ash left in a fireplace, with accents of orange, and blue jems to compliment her own aquamarine eyes. Slipping on her shoes and gloves, she almost spun out the door, a maid chastening her to remember her coat. With a huff, she reluctantly lets the maid bundle her up in a coat, and is thrown into the carriage. Supposedly her brother had already left... Although, she hadn't actually seen Len today. Boo! Len never wants to hang out anymore! The blond mentally complained, staring out the carriage window. She couldn't wait for the party!! -- As Rin entered the hall, her face lit up in a smile. The band was playing, people were dancing, and the food smelt amazing!! Rin felt giddy and light headed as she stumbled along to greet the host. A mister...Hiya...something? She had already forgotten his name as she went from group to group, introducing herself and socializing. "Wah!! This is just like something out of a romance novel!!" She breathed in amazement and wonder.

((Ahhh I'm screaming cuz the image of Rin twirling in that dress is so cute! Of course it's okay to join! I've been randomly starting up new ones because it's hard for people to join roleplays that have already come along too far so I'm glad! ><)b))

Tacky.
Tacky, tacky, tacky.
He supposed he didn't have any room to talk - whenever he threw a party, it was more so to Rin's tastes than his own. While he didn't mind appeasing the wants and needs of her highness ( kidding, of course, the Kagamine household was nothing more than the standard noble blood ) he would admit to growing slightly tiresome of the constant demands of 'more yellow, Len! Oooh, this should be orange!"
In fact, such was the reason he opted to leave earlier, and arrive at the party not fashionably late as usual but surprisingly early. He'd given the slightest of nods to the host on site; having put on his usual facade for these sorts of functions the moment he stepped foot outside the carriage.
Once inside, he found himself a drink and some company and set about entertaining himself.
At least the house was nice.

Hiyama surveyed the party-goers with a satisfied smile as they mingled and snacked. He was glad the party had come to be quite the success. Ladies daintily swished their flowing skirts as they coquettishly fanned their made-up faces, giggling as they gossiped. Men made good company with each other, looking dapper in their own suits as they discussed current events or which of the ladies they found especially alluring.
A scholar, Hiyama had recently decided to move his home to a New England city, using the fortune he had, of course, inherited from his parents. And what better way to meet his new neighbors than to throw a glamorous ball?
A particularly charming young lady, flitting like a blonde butterfly from group to group, caught the tutor's eye and he watched appreciatively as she laughed and talked, and walked with her beautiful dress twirling, the gems catching the sunlight filtering in through the windows. Hiyama had greeted her earlier when she had first arrived, and recalled her name as Rin, a name that fit the cute girl nicely. It was probably quite impolite to keep looking her way, but he supposed she wouldn't notice, and he only meant to do it until his old friend, who was running late, would finally show up.

((okay! ^^ thanks! >.<))
Rin looked into her glass. The liquid distorted her reflection, and the girl sighed in annoyance. Where was her brother!? She had really hoped he would talk with her! With a huff and a flick of her perfectly styled hair, she decided she didn't need him, and set off to enjoy herself even more. She paused her quick pace, mentally scolding herself for not behaving as a lady should, and not only nearly running, but also displaying irritation. She pulled out her fan and opened it, hiding her face as she focused on bringing up her ballroom mask.
Smiling once more, Rin felt her worries fade as she mingled with ladies, blushing and waving her fan as they complimented her outfit, giving the socially acceptable answer while swelling with pride. She flirted with some dashing young gentleman near the food, giggling coquettishly as she demurely nibbled on some chocolates. She only hoped someone would ask her to dance; they had to dance at such a lavish ball otherwise it was a waste of time!
As she left the refreshments table, giggling with a new friend, she caught sight of a flash of blond hair. She stopped, and excused herself, weaving her way through people, desperate to see if it had been Len she had seen. She emerged on the other side, face to face with their host. She pouted a bit; Len had escaped her. Seeing as she was standing before their host, she thought she may as well talk to him.
"Hello Mister... Oh dear... I seem to have completely forgotten your name! I apologize!" She said, bringing up her fan, wanting to roll her eyes. Of course she'd forget his name!

It was only natural for the young girl to be belle of the ball, even if the so-called "ball" was not hers. Teal locks were delicately and, some would say, perfectly styled for her; Miku wasn't sure how her ridiculously long hair had become such an attention grabber but whatever please people, she supposed. Her hair had become something that gave her many compliments at the party, many ladies cooing over her and asking about what she did for such beautiful locks. Thanks to female attention, the belle already had many young gentleman striking up conversations with her. Only a few minutes in and things were already busy for her. "I think I'm a bit parched, please excuse me. I'm going to get something to drink," she smiled brightly, before quickly escaping the crowd. While she did how all eyes were on her, sometimes it got a bit smothering. She tiptoed over to the grand table; it was lavished with fine and clearly expensive little treats. Mousse, various types of chocolates, and fruit were all for show on the table. Rather than getting a drink like she had said, Miku just decided to stay around the area of the table. Despite it being very rude for her to ditch her earlier crowd, she preferred not talking about shampoo and her hobbies for thousands of times without end. Honestly, having her length of hair was not easy -- brushing and washing took a while -- she love it, but it was nothing too spectacular. Hopefully, if another person was to ever make conversation with her it would not be about her teal tresses. Her eyes wandered about the people of the party, each were people of fine families just as her. Of course, she expected no less. These parties were always full of the wealthier sort.

Haku arrived to the event in a dainty, horse-drawn carriage. She smiled as she exited the carriage and entered the party. The place was lit up brightly with daylight and the happy auras of everyone there. She strode past the little spurts of people and made her way to the tables which offered many drinks and a large assortment of foods. Haku picked up an eclair and nibbled at it, scanning her surroundings. She spotted a young blonde girl spinning, a green-haired girl and a fuchsia haired girl talking, and not much else. She picked up a glass of mimosa that was being offered and took a light sip.

Mr. Hiyama smiled amiably at the dainty girl standing before him, face half-hidden behind her fine fan.
"No need to apologize," the brown-haired man replied, his warm brown eyes twinkling in appreciation of Rin's beauty. "I'm still quite new to the neighborhood. I am Kiyoteru Hiyama (since this is based in America I figured I'd write it that way). It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Kagamine."
He offered a sweeping bow, his eyes never leaving Miss Kagamine's face.
