Kokone wiped a tear from her eye, touched to the heart.
"How kind of you," she said, her voice shaking with gratitude.
Careful to take the smallest rice ball so as not to be rude, Kokone thanked Gumi over and over again.
During Home Ec., Kokone had only made a batch of cookies which she had ended up leaving on Rei's desk while he had gone out for gym with the other male students as a sort of peace offering.
"I'm in your debt," Kokone said between bites. "How can I repay you?"

Mugi managed to survive every class, constantly thanking Gumi for the supplies including the new pen. PE, however, was an absolutely dreadful experience. When Gaku-sensei (in which he constantly and painfully reminded the students to call him Kamui-sensei) sent the boys out to run laps, Mugi collapsed halfway through the first one. And further still, as the class moved on to soccer, Mugi brilliantly managed to fall face-first into the grass twice, endure a hit to the face by the ball thrice, and twist his ankle once (obviously).
By the time lunch came around, Mugi could not be happier. He hadn't brought his lunch, but for every year of school he never had, paying exactly 120 yen for a cup of milk tea and leaving it at that. He had become fairly used to not eating anything until after school and gained skill in ignoring his grumbling stomach.
And so, as Mugi returned to his desk from the vending machine, he placed his head in his arms and went straight to sleep. He didn't even notice Kokone's outburst and he was lightly snoring in no time.

Rei yawned as he walked back to class from P.E. Of all classes, P.E. was probably one of his worse. Though looking at what happened to that green haired kid, he was called Mogi? Mugu? Muge? Whatever. Anyway, P.E. was probably better for him than that kid. At least he didn't collaps during the laps, faceplant during soccer, make his face a target board, or twist his ankle. But then he barely got through the class unscratched.
What class did he have next? Oh right, it's lunch time. Time to sleep. He went up to the top floor of the building to find that they still haven't fixed the handle. Rei sighed and went back to his classroom. He'll having to find another quiet spot soon if they don't fix that door.
He walked into his homeroom and to his desk. What's this? Rei picked up a batch of cookies that was on his desk. He looked around. The girl from yesterday was thanking a green haired girl in his class. She was eating a rice ball. Maybe that's what she was thanking her for? Whatever, none of his business. Rei went over and tapped the girl on the shoulder. "Are these yours..?" He asked, showing her the cookies.

"H-hm?" Kokone flinched at Rei's question, not expecting him to talk to her. In fact she was rather expecting him to just shrug and take it, something that most people probably wouldn't do anyways.
"I-I don't know what you're talking about," she said, her voice unnaturally high. Kokone wasn't a very convincing liar. "It must have j-just appeared by itself..."
After a moment's pause, Kokone decided that there was no way that anyone was going to believe her so she hung her head and owned up to the bag of cookies, telling Rei that it was a sort of "nice to meet you" gift to him.

"It is no big deal! You can have the whole box if you would like!" Gumi said, leaving the box of rice balls on her desk. She was going to ask the girl her name but a dark-haired boy approached the girl and started talking so Gumi presumed it would be best to leave. She walked back to her desk and looked at her lunch, which consisted of tiny sandwiches, grapes, and two carrots. Gumi picked up one of the carrots and began nibbling on it. Teto ate her school-made lunch. She would of preferred to have a lunch brought from home but she was lucky enough to even remember money to buy lunch. Would this goop even qualify as lunch?

Hiyama settled down at his desk in the teacher's office, setting a steaming bowl of curry udon in front of him. He himself was not much of a cook so he reveled in the school's cafeteria lunches. Next to his udon was a "Super Onigiri", the school's specialty, which he meant to take home with him for dinner. He was pretty delighted that he managed to get his hands on the cafeteria's elusive treat, which usually was out of stock due to the sheer demand.
In the meantime, Ruko had just managed to rouse herself out of bed.
"Man," she laughed, looking at the time. "I sure am late!"
She took her sweet time dressing and eating a comfortable lunch at home before strolling towards the school. She finally arrived, halfway through lunch and sat down in an unoccupied seat in the back row where she promptly fell back asleep.

She's a pretty bad liar. That was the first thing that came to Rei's mind. He looked at the situation and realized that he interrupted the girl's conversation with someone. Then looking at the situation again, he guessed that the girl probably forgot her lunch.
"You should keep them. There really is no reason for you to give me anything, and I don't want to owe you." Rei gave the cookies back to the girl. "Plus, you forgot your lunch didn't you..? You should eat them instead."
Without waiting for a reply, he turned back to his desk and sat down. He put his head down on his arms and closed his eyes, ready to nap until the teacher interrupts him with the afternoon lesson.

Kokone glanced at the cookies, and then the now-napping Rei. She couldn't eat the whole box of onigiri AND the cookies.
"But I made them for you," she said pitifully. "Y-you won't owe me anything. I just want to be... be friends..."
Her voice trailed off at the end of her sentence. The last time she made a petition to be his friend, it hadn't exactly ended in, well, friendship. She stared hard at the bag of cookies in her hand, as if trying to set it on fire with her gaze.
